I Hate Internet Explorer

Web Developers:

View the source of this blog entry and feel free to add the following code to the end of your pages. Let's deter people from using Internet Explorer until Microsoft simply gives up on it like they should have done so many years ago! And please encourage other web developers to follow suit.

P.S. If you are not using Internet Explorer, you won't see anything below this line.

    I use IE and don't have any issues with it (thankfully), but I installed Firefox because Tracey's blogskin doesn't work well in IE. LOL

    Perhaps most people don't know how horrible IE is because they don't do cross-browser web site development, much less web application development. Microsoft is up to version 8 already and STILL does not support some fundamental standards. I have yet to see IE work with child selectors in CSS, and talk about the screwy box model discrepancies, inability to properly compute element dimensions that include padding, mysterious parenting when applying percentage widths on contained elements, and a hundred hacks just to get IE to do simple things that ALL other STANDARDS-based browsers just do automatically.
    IE is a scourge and a plague on the Internet and needs to die a most horrible death - an event that would send hordes of Web developers, designers and UI engineers dancing in the streets!
    DIE, INTERNET EXPLORER, DIE!!!
    No offense, but you who have no issues with it have no idea what it takes to make web sites WORK in it. The example of Tracy's blog skin not working well in IE is is just one example. I'm literally sick and tired of struggling to support the stupid piece of crap browser and it's really getting me riled up just writing about the damn thing so I better stop now before I create a whole slew of new enemies.
    Although, on the other hand, any staunch supporter of IE *IS* an enemy of mine. Unless, of course, they're willing to become educated on the matter. ;)

    And how do you REALLY feel about it Bill? LOL!!

    I do understand what you are saying, for most of us who only know how to use the internet and don't have to program stuff or even understand it, it's not so bad. But for you folks it's a different story. A buddy of mine swears by Linux and one day I'll have to try it.

    I'm right there with you, Bill.

    And that's one more reason to move to Linux!! I LOVE Ubuntu and don't have any issues with it at all. Of course, I use Firefox and Thunderbird rather than Internet Exploder and Outhouse...:-D
