The Grass is Growing

Feeling a bit vapid lately. Not compelled to write much. Just sitting here waiting for what, I don't know. Just wanted to let you know I'm still around. Turn on the light so I can scurry back into a dark corner somewhere. ;)

Or, like I told my wife the other day, put some cheese on a shoe and shove it in my mouth. (That was my way of telling her I was wrong about something). Not that that has anything to do with anything, I just thought it was funny, and it came to mind, so I wrote it down.

So there!

What a COOL song! It's actually quite beautiful Bill......who is it? And where do you get all these?

Question for ya....when you're in blogs reading them, do you have a My Favourites window open on the side as well as the blog page? My sister did, and it distorted the blog until she closed the My Favourites window....then the blog was fine.

Just wondering, as so many aren't having a problem and just a few of you are. I'm trying desperately to figure this out so that everyone can see it no problem.

**I worked so HARD on it!!**

The song is from an album called Sacred Spirits (YEHA-NOHA). As for your blog...the web is like that. It can be hard to get a design to work in all browsers, especially if you don't have all browsers available to test the design in. My guess is you have used some IE-specific stylesheet rules (or perhaps some that aren't valid in IE) that is somehow causing IE 6 (on Windows XP Pro, service pack 2, anyway) to not provide horizontal scroll bars. My suggestion would be to make the design narrower (I usually design for 800 wide). I work in 1024x768 resolution, but do not have my browser windows open full-screen (because I usually have anywhere from 10 to 40 application windows open at a time and bounce around a lot between them all). Maybe put your content on the left and all the other items on the right. Web design is an imperfect science that is riddled with cross-browser issues.

Thank you Bill! You solved it....but how the heck did YOU know what was in my template?? LOL!!

I really like this song... if the rest of the album is like this, I'd like it!

And yeah, how goes the job hunt? Aren't we a nosey bunch of broads?? LOL!!

Jude - Yes, the rest of the album is like this. It is an excellent album. As for your template, there are two ways I could know: one is to simply view source while I am looking at your site. The other is to go to File and Save to save your site to my local drive. By the way, I noticed you are using quite a few IE-specific CSS extensions (like overflow-x and overflow-y and the other scrollbar options). Firefox and other browsers ignore them, which is probably why people with those other browsers were able to see your site OK. However, when I look at it with FireFox, I get scrollbars everywhere - both on the left (horizontal and vertical) and on the left (horiz and vert) as well as on the browser window itself.

All - As for the new job, I have it on good authority that they will be making me an offer and are going through some formalities now, but that I am probably going to begin work on the 16th. But until I hear something OFFICIALLY, I'm not ringing any bells.

I meant both on the left and on the right (my other left).

Hey, good for you on the job Bill! That's only a week away then!
