Getting My Blog Back

I have decided that I want my blog back.

As you know, I took down my haphazardmusings.blogspot.com blog a while back, and now it is back up under a slightly different address. I ventured over to the old address a few times, trying to figure out just what the hell the hijacker was doing with my old blog.

And I think I finally figured it out!

So, now I am on a crusade to get my old address back. If you go to the old address, you will see just a ton of links, supposedly about insurance. But if you jump to any of those links, they take you to some bogus page that is top-heavy with Google adsense ads, then has some gibberish about bogus insurance information way down below the fold somewhere.

There are absolutely no links to any valid information, anywhere. No real web sites where you can sign up for insurance or leave email for anyone or find out about insurance policies. It's all totally bogus.

So, what I believe is happening is that this hijacker has taken my old address - which was once a valid (and presumably frequented) blog - and seeded it with all these bogus links that take you to all these pages on all these different domains that all look alike: they are all top-heavy with Google Adsense ads.

The way Google Adsense works is, you get real money based on how many times people see the ads on your website. The more views you get, the more money you get. But Google also has a policy about how the ads are used - and this hijacker doesn't seem to be following the rules. He (or she) just wants as many people to see as many pages of their Google Adsense ads as possible.

To make more money.

I have done my best to track down the owner of the domains, though he has done everything to conceal his true identity, so I'm not confident my email will even reach him. Or her. So, now I am attacking from other directions. I have written to the services that s/he is using to conceal his/her identity, and I have written to Google, telling them to have a look.

Who knows? I just might get my old address back!

Keep your fingers crossed.

Blogging Schedule

OK, so maybe my blog is back, but apparently I am not. I'm harder to find than hen's teeth. Or, as my wife might say (she has a hard time with cliches), I'm harder to find than Carter has pills. I know that doesn't make sense, but then those are the sort of things I like to point out.

Fortunately, my wife is in Los Angeles right now, so she can't hurt me. Not physically, anyway. Not that she would or anything, but it seems I provoke her at times. Actually, things are pretty good between us. In fact, we went on a cruise a together a few weeks ago and had a great time.

I will recap the cruise sometime when I can sit down and post some pictures - perhaps this weekend. I got sick a couple of days into the cruise, but fortunately it was during the trek from Galviston to our first stop, so I didn't miss much. As I told my wife, a bad day on a cruise is better than a great day at work.

I don't know if I even want to talk about last week, although I suppose I will post some pictures of my broken airplane. I had a great day that day...right up until my airplane hit the ground. I have a theory about how it happend (a few theories, actually, but I have pretty much dismissed the ones involving poltergeists and exterrestrial visitors).

Anyway, I just wanted to let you all know (what, all two of you?) that I am doing OK. Things are absolutely insane at work - OMG - and I can't believe the horrible news I have received about a couple people in my life (please send positive energy), but I am alive and reasonably well, and I think I'm going to go tie myself to the bed, now, since that's the only way I can think of that might keep me there for eight hours.

Sleeep! Sleeeeeeeep! I need sleeeeeeeep!

Another friend of mine has been sending me some funny videos, so now I'm getting the itch to make some of my own.

Stay tuned.

Hell Week

Just some notes about my next blog entry:

This was a bad week.
I found out this week one of my good friends was diagnosed with MS.
On the same day, I found out my mom's beau was diagnosed with cancer.
The fiasco with the Honda I sold in October may not be over yet - I had a miserable conversation with a collection agency about this bill they are trying to get me to pay for which I am not liable. I called the company directly and they said they don't know why it went to the collection agency - hopefully it will stop now.
My right knee has been hurting.
This morning, a neighbor (one that gave the rest of us the creeps) was taken away in handcuffs. Don't know if there is terrorist activity involved.
All this on the week that it FINALLY got warm here. It is supposed to be in the upper 80s today - almost 90! WOO HOO!!!!!!!! I'm going out now to fly my airplane. I flew it a couple weekends ago at a birthday party - on July 1 - then went to a July 4 party three days later and did a nasty belly flop pulling out of a flip. This was after my first successful 1-1/2 flip where I hit the bottom of the pool and then cut my foot on the drain. I will never dive there again.
Oh, and lo and behold, I flew my RC plane today! And crashed the fucking thing!

Details later.
